I don't know about you, but when I got to a school sports game like a football or basketball game I go in part because I think they will win. This came up the other night when me and a few of my friends were going to a UVA basketball game against Minnesota. I was talking about how they'd won the last few and should do pretty good tonight. Then my friends starts talking about how the team sucks and is probably the worst basketball team in the ACC. Now why would you go a basketball game to root for a team which you already said sucks and will definitely lose? It would seem pointless to me to go to a game where I thought the team sucked. You go because there's that chance that they might win. You hold out hope that your team will pull through because you're there cheering them on. Anyway that's the way I look at it. (By the way the way they ended up winning the game.)
